Every year, we count it a great honor to distribute scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students who are enrolled or admitted to Baylor University. Because our organization is committed to building generations of alumni, our scholarships are limited to those who are children or grandchildren of someone who graduated from Baylor. Last year, the Foundation was proud to distribute over 45 scholarships of $2,000 each. The scholarship cycle starts over each year, and former recipients must reapply for a new scholarship. Scholarship recipients are required to join us at our annual Hall of Fame banquet held in January.

Application materials must be received by the BLF Scholarship Committee by 11:59 pm CST on March 31, 2018. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered by the committee. You will receive a copy of your application when you hit Submit (if you don’t, please send a note to baylorline@www.baylorlinefoundation.com), and you will be notified by regular mail or e-mail as to the status of your application.

Completed application packets will include:

  • This application form.
  • High school or college transcript. Current college students (attending Baylor or transferring from another school) are not required to submit their high-school transcripts, and you may submit a screenshot of your transcripts.
  • High School Students Only: A copy of your SAT or ACT scores, if not included on the transcript.
  • A resume that includes academic honors/achievements, school-sponsored extracurricular activities, non-school sponsored events, and work experience.

The application must be submitted online.

The Baylor Line Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that is separate and independent from Baylor University.

Important: Recruited athletes and graduate students may not apply for Baylor Line Foundation scholarships.

Student applications for BLF Legacy Scholarships
  • Applicant Personal Information

  • Use the e-mail that you most often look at. If you're in high school, we'll ask you to consider updating it with your Baylor e-mail when you get to campus.
  • Please list your Baylor family members, relationship, and year they graduated (if you know it). For example, Susan Johnson Smith B.S. '81, J.D. '84, mother.
  • Just names and occupations.
  • Please tell us your anticipated graduation date from Baylor and your anticipated/preferred major (enrolled students will be able to provide more information later).
  • Academic and Extracurricular Information

We would like you to attach a separate resume that includes such information as academic honors/achievements; school-sponsored extracurricular activities; non-school sponsored events; and work experience. Please try to keep it to two pages, and include any leadership positions and/or recognition.
  • Please include name of school, address, graduation date, high school cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, and class rank. Please note if home-schooled.
  • High School Seniors Only: Please note SAT or ACT and date taken, with a breakdown of SAT Verbal, Math, and Writing Scores. Please also note any AP exams taken, date taken, and grade.
  • Please note either (1) Baylor GPA if current student and hours completed or (2) Other Colleges Attended and GPA there. You can also include extracurricular activities in this box.
  • Essay Questions

  • Please note that submitting this application gives the BLF permission to use some or all of your answer in its publications to promote the program and raise funds for future years.
  • Those timeless values include Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty, Courtesy, Perseverance, and Reverence.
  • Tell us the challenges you are having funding a Baylor education, what your alternatives were, and how hard you're working to attend in the fall. Some past winners have used this scholarship to reduce their funding gap between tuition and financial aid, to participate in an overseas or enrichment program, or to enable them to work fewer work-study hours so they can participate in an extracurricular activity. You can also mention siblings who are going to Baylor or elsewhere at the same time. You can also attach more detailed financial information in the Attachments section below (but please don't send us your tax return). If your parents want to provide separate information, that's fine too. Please just ask them to make sure they clearly identify you.
