Baylor Line Foundation Legacy Scholarship Application
Applications Are Now Being Accepted for the 2017-18 School Year.
Important: Recruited athletes, children and grandchildren of BLF Board Members, and graduate students MAY NOT receive awards in this program.
The Baylor Line Foundation (BLF) provides awards to outstanding undergraduate students. Scholarships will only be awarded to those students who are children and/or grandchildren of Baylor alumni and are enrolled or admitted into Baylor University. One of the criteria for this scholarship is depth of legacy, so having other members of your family who attend or have attended Baylor is a plus. We will consider awarding scholarships to siblings who are attending Baylor at the same time, but we ask that you complete separate applications.
Legacy Scholars must carry at least 12 credit hours per semester and have a 2.5 GPA. The scholarships are not automatically renewable, but you can receive one for each year of your undergraduate career. If you plan to graduate in December 2017, please let us know.
We received more than 200 applications last year and awarded 82 scholarships of $1,000 each. We anticipate offering scholarships of up to $2,500 this year so we expect this process will be even more competitive. Please take that into account when completing the application.
Application materials must be received by the BLF Scholarship Committee by 11:59 pm CST on March 31, 2017. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered by the committee. You will receive a copy of your application when you hit Submit (if you don’t, please send a note to peter@BaylorLineFoundation.com), and you will be notified by regular mail or e-mail as to the status of your application.
Completed application packets will include:
- This application form, which includes three required essays.
- High-school or college transcript. Current college students (attending Baylor or transferring from another school) are not required to submit their high-school transcripts, and you may submit a screenshot (vs. getting the school to send an “official” transcript).
- High School Students Only: A copy of your SAT or ACT scores, if not included on the transcript.
- A resume that includes academic honors/achievements; school-sponsored extracurricular activities; non-school sponsored events; and work experience.
The application must be submitted online. If that poses a problem, please contact Peter Osborne at 484-885-4117.
The Baylor Line Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that is separate and independent from Baylor University.
