Baylor Bears — and their Bear cubs — who have received a traffic ticket in Texas can get it dismissed, possibly receive an auto-insurance discount, AND support the Baylor Alumni Association by attending Ticketschool.com’s six-hour Texas Education Agency (TEA)-approved online defensive-driving course.
Defensive driving (i.e., a driving-safety course) is a program that can be taken once every 12 months to keep the points associated with a ticket from going on your driving record. It can also be taken to save money (typically 10% for three years) on your auto insurance with participating providers.
If you have a traffic ticket, you should first notify the court/judge that you would like to take defensive driving to keep the points off your record. Once they confirm you’re eligible, you are free to register for the course through this link (also available on our Member Benefits page).
You can complete the $25 course at your convenience. At that point, TicketSchool.com will send a certificate of completion to turn in to the court by your deadline. It should arrive within 3-5 business days, and express delivery is available if you waited until the last minute.
The link to the site provides a lot more detail. The BAA receives a portion of each enrollment through that link…and we’ll put the money toward a different type of education — Legacy Scholarships!
